DO'S AND DON'TS
A few habits that make the difference between a vibrant, ready-to-press gang sheet and one that prints soft. We print files exactly as they arrive, so getting this right up front is the whole game.
Do
Transparent background
Export a PNG with a real transparent background. On a dark shirt that is the difference between the art itself and the art inside a white box.
300 DPI at print size
Set the resolution at the size you actually want it pressed. A 2 inch logo blown up to 11 inches was never 300 DPI at 11 inches.
Fill the sheet
Nest your designs tight and add copies to use the length you are paying for. You pay by the inch, so empty space is wasted money.
Don't
Don't send screenshots
A screenshot is a low-resolution photo of a screen. It has no transparency and it will print soft and blocky.
Don't send pixelated artwork
If it looks blurry or blocky zoomed in on your screen, it prints blurry and blocky on the shirt. Enlarging a small file does not add detail back.
Don't send bad background removal
Halos, leftover white edges, and chunks cut out of the artwork all print exactly as they are. We do not clean these up for you.
Don't overshadow your designs
Heavy drop shadows and glows on a transparent background print as visible film around the art. Keep edges clean.
